Know who is calling before you answer the phone. Caller ID lets you see the calling telephone number and/or name, giving you the option of answering.

To use Caller ID, you need a display phone or a display add-on unit (Caller ID box). When you receive a call, wait until your telephone completes the first ringing signal. The calling telephone number and name will automatically appear on your display screen. If you choose to answer the call, the name and number will remain on the screen until you delete it off your display unit.

Use this service with Caller ID to reject anonymous callers - whose numbers are blocked from your Caller ID display. An announcement states that you do not accept anonymous calls and they can remove blocking and place the call again. Identified calls will ring through as usual.

To turn on the service, lift the handset and listen for dial tone. Press *77. Listen for the confirmation tone, and then hang up. To turn off the service, press *87. Listen for confirmation tone or announcement. Hang up.

Dial a code on a per-call basis to prevent your number from appearing on Caller ID.

To use Per-Call Blocking, lift the handset and listen for dial tone. Press *67. Dial the number you're calling as usual. The person you've called will not be able to see your name and number on their telephone display screen (if they have Caller ID). Instead, a "P" or "Private" will be displayed, for this call only.

Program your phone to accept calls only from a selected list of people, for a time period or indefinitely. All other callers will hear an announcement that you are not accepting calls at this time.

To use Selective Call Acceptance, lift the handset and listen for dial tone. Press *68. Listen for an announcement telling you whether the feature is currently on or off. The recorded voice will then tell you how many (if any) numbers are currently stored in your acceptance list. Follow the voice instructions.

Dial 3 to turn the feature on (if currently off) or turn the feature off (if currently on). Note: This feature requires at least one entry on your list to activate.

To add the last caller to your acceptance list: Press#01# and the person who just called you will be added to your list.

To review the numbers on your list, dial 1. After the list is read, voice instructions will follow.

To add a number to your list, press #. Follow voice instructions. You can store up to 31 phone numbers on your acceptance list.

To remove a number from your list, press *. Follow the voice instructions to remove any or all of those numbers from your acceptance list.

To hear instructions again: Dial 0.
